Local
Area Information - Snoqualmie
The
city of Snoqualmie is located in the Snoqualmie Valley,
thirty minutes east of Seattle. It is a city known for its
tourist attractions and as a gateway to many year-round
recreational activities in the Cascade Mountains.
Snoqualmie
Falls is the second most popular tourist attraction in Washington
state--over 1.5 million people visit each year to view the
Falls and stay at the world-class Salish Lodge. The major
ski area at Snoqualmie Pass is located only 20 minutes east
of nearby North Bend, as well as access to the popular Alpine
Lake Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail. While in Snoqualmie,
you can visit numerous specialty shops, or ride the historic
Snoqualmie Valley Railroad from North Bend to Snoqualmie.
You may recognize Snoqualmie from the popular former television
show Twin Peaks.
In the
coming years, the city of Snoqualmie will expand westward
onto Snoqualmie Ridge with 2,000 new homes, a business park
and neighborhood retail center, and a Jack Nicklaus-designed
PGA tournament golf course.
