Area Information - Renton
Renton
is located at the south end of Lake Washington, eleven miles
south of downtown Seattle. Situated at the meeting of Interstate
5 and 405--two major highways--it provides easy access to
downtown Seattle, the SeaTac Airport, the Port of Seattle
and the populated Eastside of Lake Washington. Major employers
in Renton include such corporate giants as Boeing and PACCAR;
numerous other business call Renton home for their corporate
headquarters.
The
beauty of Renton includes the Olympic Mountains to the west
and the Cascades to the east; there are also many views
of Mount Rainier throughout the city. There is a great deal
of community participation in both the residential and business
sectors, making Renton a cohesive community in which to
live. Renton features excellent parks and recreational facilities,
professional and community theater groups, a wonderful library
system, and a well-supported community and senior center.
