Local Area Information - Issaquah

Incorporated in 1892, Issaquah has now grown to a population of over 9,000, with around 53,000 residents within the Issaquah School District Service area. This city is a residential community located about half an hour east of downtown Seattle on Interstate 90.

With easy access to Seattle, Issaquah enjoys the cultural and educational opportunities of a large city, while still retaining a very separate, rural identity. It is located on the way to Snoqualmie Pass, a ski area popular with the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Also located nearby are what are known as the Issaquah Alps, including popular Tiger Mountain with its network of trails.

Issaquah is a city known as a gateway to the recreational opportunities of Lake Sammamish and the nearby Cascade Mountains. This community anticipates continued residential and commercial expansion in the coming years, with the eventual goal of a master planned community.
